Our fabulous client leading architecture and interior design practice DV8 Designs has refurbished one of Bury’s most historical country pubs!
The Packhorse Inn, which is located in the rural village of Affetside, has been given an attractive makeover to transition it into the modern day, whilst preserving its vintage charm. We love that DV8 chose to keep the vintage charm and are really wanting some of those tartan bar stools.
Managing Director of DV8 designs Lee Birchall led a team of three to carry out the transformation of the property, which has now been officially unveiled to the public.
Lee said: “Our objective was to create a design that maintained the heritage of the pub as well as introducing more contemporary elements. The history of The Packhorse Inn, such as the legendry ‘skull’, remains a key feature of the property.
“As part of the renovation project, we also updated both the internal and external attributes with classic décor, as well as created picturesque walking trails around the site. The alteration of the property has certainly created an exciting new dimension to the 15th century inn.”
DV8 Designs, which was established in 2006, has attained high acclaim through their impressive and diverse portfolio that includes residential, bars, restaurants, hotels, leisure centres, swimming pools, spas, golf clubs & offices.
Lee added: “The site remains a traditional country pub, as it is important for it to stay true to its roots. However, the contemporary elements that have now been added will hopefully attract a broader spectrum of
customers, as well as maintaining its locals.”
We think DV8 Designs have done an amazing job and we can't wait to visit the pub soon.
